Celtic Connections - Phil & Aly

A superb concert at the City Halls this evening.  Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain - Le Grande Anniversaire.  The start of celebrations leading up to Aly's 70th birthday in May.

They were joined by a host of musician friends. Bengan Janson and Per Gudmundson from Sweden, Ann & Marc Savoy with Michael Doucet from Louisana, singing and playing cajun music.  Voilet Tulloch the Shetland pianist accompanied beautifully, reminding me of a certain Mrs Robertson from school music lessons way back when.  Surprise guests included Eddi Reader, who sang Mona Lisa as only she can, accompanied by Phil on accordian.
