So to this evening and the National Television Awards and a Special Recognition to my favourite comedian ever, the amazing Billy Connolly. On New Years Eve 1976 I spent the evening on my own watching TV. A few weeks previously I had been in hospital with a threatened miscarriage and was now having to 'take it easy'. This then prohibited normal festivities and as Mr L at that time played in a group,
he was out at a long standing booking providing the entertainment. I decided to watch Michael Parkinson and was privileged to watch Billy on his debut English TV spot. I have seen him live several times since, and never failed to watch him when he was on TV. I have never failed to laugh all the way through. Congratulations to Billy.
