Frosty...

Lacecap Hydrangea

A very hard frost last night left the garden sparkling with a covering of icy jewels... If you look at the Lacecap in large, you can see the individual ice crystals. Nature is so clever, and so beautiful...

It's been so cold today that the ice I removed from the bird bath this morning didn't thaw, and the garden has kept is white icy covering all day. Seeing as this is probably as close as I shall get to a Winter Alpine holiday this year, I treated myself to a Swiss cheese fondue this evening! A girl can dream...

A quiet day reading and pottering, saving myself for a busy day tomorrow when I have to go into Bristol for more hospital tests (unrelated to yesterday's). As a reward to myself, I'm planning on then having lunch with a friend and spending the afternoon doing something "nice"! Not sure what yet, but I think it's about time I did something that makes me smile!! :)
