From the coach!

Today on our South India tour we travelled from Tanjore to Madurai. We visited the statutary temples and also Chettinard , a town of mansions, mainly early 20th century and now houses occupied by caretakers as the inhabitants who guaranteed export financing lost out when the British left India. Anyway enough of that. Travelling here is a massive adventure. The roads vary in standard and are home to cows, goats, dogs and even elephants ( proof in picture), people sleep on verges and overtaking provides more thrills than the Big Dipper or similar. We are really enjoying this holiday!
