Frosty welcome

The occupant seems to have disappeared, possibly hiding in the warmth somewhere. (Hmm - I'd better look indoors to see if s/he's there!), but this web would be a frosty welcome for any unsuspecting potential prey.  This is one of several webs in my front yard which still bear strong evidence of this morning's freezing fog. The UK is, at the moment, sitting under a high-pressure system which would generally mean zero cloud cover and overnight freezes from about November to early spring. However that is due to move on as a windy and wet Atlantic low-pressure system arrives within the next couple of days.
