Home coming

The flight path from Brisbane to Christchurch crosses the Southern Alps, this can be spectacular on a sunny day.

Today it was a little hazy, but we were able to see Aoraki Mt Cook, with its flat top, in the centre of the photo. At 3754 metres (12,316 ft) , it is New Zealand's highest mountain. The 'mile long' summit ridge can be seen leading off to the left of the high point.

Mt Tasman, New Zealand's second highest mountain, can be seen to the right of Aoraki Mt Cook.
