The 'Falkirk Wheel 10' celebrations

The magnificent Falkirk Wheel, the world's first and still its only rotating boat lift, is 10 years old this year and Princess Anne launched the anniversary celebrations yesterday. And my choir, the mighty Heart of Scotland choir, sang there tonight for an appreciative audience of canal boaters as part of those celebrations. It went well and I was looking for an image to represent this lovely event. But you don't get to see a photo of me, singing or otherwise (oh no, strictly behind the lens on blipfoto). So, we spotted this new installation sitting in front of the Falkirk Wheel, designed by local schoolchildren. The panel in foreground is a design for a canal boat powered by waste chip fat! The Falkirk Wheel in the background looks amazing, as ever.
