World Pride
Long, tiring but fabulous day with freinds from Norwich Pride at World Pride 2012 in London. Despite all the last minute cancellations and disruption it seemed, for those people able to attend and participate in the procession, to go really well. There was a lovely atmosphere: positive and celebratory, flamboyant and reflective and we met some really nice people.
As we were going down Regent Street (or it could have been Oxford Street) I noticed that the flags of all the nations competing in the Olympics had been hung above the street. And seeing all the Rainbow flags being proudly carried made me think that this was probably the only time between now and the end of the Olympics that the Rainbow flag would be seen alongside all the others. Hence this shot.
I got lots of great photos and will be using some of them in my forthcoming exhibition 'A Celebration of Pride'.
