Hello deer

This was by no means the best picture I took on Saturday but it was the best picture of a deer I took from the kitchen window of our weekend home.
We spent most of the day pottering about the bits of the Gibside Estate owned by the National Trust. We lived only a few miles from here at the beginning of 1977 and I can't believe that we never found it then or in the subsequent 18 months when we live just North of Durham.
I guess we were busy with our first two but still it's ridiculous that it has taken us nearly 40 years.
