Signs (18) - The ave's and the ave not's

Kingston was the historically the site where a number of Saxon kings of England were crowned. Alric appears to have been a joint ruler of the Saxon kingdom of Kent so I'm guessing that's who this avenue was named after. What is less clear is why the council have seen fit to only install a reduced length stteet sign which necessitates the abbreviation of the second word!
