A toast!
A joyous seventy-fifth birthday dinner for our dear friend Mary, hosted by these three generous men (see a radiant Mary in the Extra). A massive paella, peals of laughter, bottles of wine for those who drink it (and thoughtfully-provided sparkling apple juice for those who don’t). Our hosts offered all this in a warm and inviting home full of books, art, and flowers. Conversation flowed like the rain outside, and after Mary’s daughter asked the question, “Who’s the most famous person you’ve ever had lunch with?” we spent the rest of the night regaling each other with tales of our brushes with fame and fortune, tangential though most of them were. We literally laughed till we cried. We did have a fine old time.
Finally I am through that last migraine and am rejoicing at the news of Blipfoto. The toast in the photograph was for Mary, and I pass it on to the Fabulous Four who brokered the deal to buy Blipfoto for all of us. Will turn comments back on tomorrow.
