Snakes and ladders
Mono Monday challenge...........Tradition.
I wonder how many children still play traditional board games like this one?
This was my board as a child. I used to love this game, and we have played with both children and grandchildren.
Also liked Ludo, and Dominoes,Draughts, and Chess , though was never much good at the latter.
I do hope these traditional games are still being played by today's children and parents.
Snakes and Ladders is an ancient Indian board game.
It was associated with traditional Hindu philosophy contrasting Karma and Kama, or destiny and desire.
Introduced into Victorian England in 1892.
Not a lot of people know that! ( or do they?)
