Recently became a fan of the poetry of Dave Reeves; his funny and often poignant verse about Black Country life is mesmerising. Particular favourite: "Toad Paradox", in which he discourses on the local phrase "yow be toad" (meaning "stop arguing"), and how difficult it consequently is to emulate the amphibian in question.
