Lathallan House, dreaming of a golden past

Sad to see places like this decaying, the cost to restore and maintain as a single home being phenomenal and beyond means of most.
Built by Thomas Hamilton in 1828, a famous pioneer of the Greek revival in Scotland, it has been in a bit of a state for the last 30 years with fire and vandalism taking its toll.
However not all bad news, the link here suggests that late last year planning permission was given to turn it into 9 flat dwellings. No sign of any activity yet however.
9 flats! Can't help thinking that's just wrong, but at least it remains.

I'll go for this as my WBC entry for 'RUIN' this weekend.
