Travels with Alfie

The wrong kind of rain

The title refers to the fact that my broadband connection is very slow today and wouldn't let me put up my intended photo - just this cropped one. Presumably the rain has affected the line somewhere - either that or the wind has changed direction. Either way, the joys of living in the country mean that the already crap broadband speed is hovering around the useless mark.

The photo is of the River Tavy near Bere Ferrers. I had popped over to give little sister her birthday present and took a walk along the river there. It is always different, always beautiful in some way.

Bere Ferrers is home of the annual Watersports Day coming up soon. But this is not exactly Cowes. None of your yachting, water-skiing, wind-surfing or the like. This is knocking people off a slippery pole into the mud, the 50 yard dash through the said mud (thigh deep by the way) and speed-crabbing by the quay-side. Very Devon.

By the way - better in LARGE. Another from the day here.
