10th Birthday

This weekend marks the 10th Birthday of the Falkirk Wheel - the world's first and only rotating boat lift.

Following a Royal Visit yesterday, today was a celebration event involving Abseiling off The Falkirk Wheel, Raft Races, Boat Trips, Music, Dance, Unicycle Displays, Archery, Acrobatics..and much, much more.

The anniversary was also being marked with the gathering of a flotilla of 60 vessels, including the oldest passenger boat in Scotland, the Ratho Princess.

However the one thing they couldn't lay on was the weather. The crowds were thoroughly enjoying the events but oh how much better it would have been on a fine day with some sunshine and blue sky. It rained for the majority of the time! Hope they can still have the fireworks.
