Quick as a Flash

Had to be quick for this one as herons don't hang around long!  Of course the "proper" camera still had the macro lens on and the heron was about 50 yards away so there was a mad scramble for the Panasonic bridge camera which felt so light compared to the Canon with macro lens attached!  Then of course, he was poised with the sun just to the side of him...

Still, I rather liked the silhouette effect .

Bitterly cold today when I took Mom shopping.  Good to know that by next week we should have her Blue badge parking pass! Common sense prevailed and in spite of Mom telling the official (very nice) that she could run faster than anyone and did keep fit every week, we were told we qualified for the pass!  Hoorah!
