Numb Gulls
My hairdresser, who usually works in St Margaret's near Richmond-upon-Thames, was temporarily in the Twickenham branch today. I used to live in nearby Teddington for several years, and it was strange visiting old haunts which I hadn't seen for a very long time, so familiar and yet unfamiliar at the same time. As I had arrived early for my appointment, I walked down to the riverside and looked across the Thames to Eel Pie Island. It was bone-shatteringly cold, and my hands went numb as I fumbled with my camera to take some pictures of the gulls and pigeons, huddled together, perching on the railings (see extra photo). I was glad when it was time to go into the humid heat of the salon and warm up.
