New Beginnings

We were very sad when this nearby tree died. It seemed to leave such a gap in the hedgerow. However now we see the old stump is being used by ivy and that new growth is springing up from the bottom. That gives a much more cheerful light to the scene.

This cycle path and footpath used to be a lane in the middle of the countryside. I learnt to drive up here. Now it's a path through a large housing estate. It is not always treated with the respect it deserves, but the wild flowers keep trying to thrive and the birds enjoy the hedgerow that has not been dug up.
