Loch Carron
West Coast today, this is a picture taken at the old pier at Strome Ferry.
The Loch is a sea Loch and flows, to the right, into the Inner Sound of Raasay. in the Minch.
The Minch is the sea between the Hebrides and the North West Coast of Scotland.
Strome Ferry closed when the A890 was opened up between Strath Carron and Kyle of Lochalsh in the late 1960s.
It was closed for about six weeks this winter when a landslide tumbled onto the road and the school kids were ferried from one side of the Loch to the other.
