Riches and rags......

Not the best photograph in the world but I wanted to get an idea of tremendous wealth and horrific poverty. This was taken from a small plane from Mumbai to Nagpur. Dense pollution hangs over the city because there are now so many cars, motor bikes and rickshaws with small engines. Many of the recent new middle classes (call centres and technology) live in the high rise apartments but down below you can just see the slums. This hasn't improved since I was last in Mumbai but at least the country is getting wealthy so perhaps one day, just maybe, the poor will have a better standard of living. Off to the jungle tomorrow, hopefully to see tigers! Now that really would be a great blip!
