A DOOR A GAIN

HA-HA - gotcha !

Another door - well a doorway ! Taken on a misty morning and with a little filtering to fill the mood. Thanks to all for the positive feedback this week.

Northcliffe House was designed by York architect Walter Henry Brierley. Building work began in 1891 and was completed in 1893. It was one of the finest residential dwellings in the area.

It later became a convalescent home for the SOGAT - Society of Graphical and Allied Trades - union to the printing industry. Today it has been developed into separate apartments, but the gardens are open to the public.
