The Shark off of Botany Bay, Charleston
Mary and I went to Botany Bay this morning. We walked along the bone yard, all of the drift wood had been pushed up on the shore close to the vegetation. It was high tide which made walking a little difficult. This is not your typical beach where you several feet of sand to sun bath on and swim. The sand ocean are beautiful, but the vegetation is only 5-7 feet from the waters edge at high tide (which was when we were there).
I saw the tree limb in the water, and watched the waves come rolling across, then realized that it looked like a shark swimming close to shore. I was tickled when my imagination about what I had made the limb into.
The extra is a picture of a horse trying to get through the surf out to the sea. It appears to be leaping up to meet the next wave.
Now, in truth, this is the shark limb viewed from another perspective that looks like a horse (limb)..... Now, you can imagine my joy at my discovering that the old brain still had some imagination left. Today was a great, fun day in the boneyard. (Boneyard is how the drift wood washed up on shore is described by South Carolinians ).
