Day 13: Phuket
Didn't do much the last couple of days - mainly getting over hangovers and again having to say goodbye to people :( but yesterday we spent 12 hours travelling from Koh Tao to Phuket - very long journey but made up for by checking into a lovely hotel.
Boat trip today involved Sea Canoeing in caves - absolutely stunning, especially Diamond Cave, named such because the limestone inside glitters like diamonds. After the sea canoeing we went to James Bond Island - named after the 1974 James Bond film 'The Man With The Golden Gun', some of which was filmed on this island. Definitely beautiful but quite touristy.
Came back and had a DIY thai BBQ which was really nice at the time but Nic later got food poisoning from... Followed by drinks in an Aussie bar. Phuket is literally full of Australians, especially as it's their Winter Break from the Uni's. Yet all the Aussie's just hang out in the Aussie bars... not really getting involved in the culture of Thailand! That said, I've decided that Phuket is a bit like Benidorm, just with Australians rather than Northerners...
