Yes it did...

The weather man did say we would get a whole months rain in 24 hours and it did. It rained from first thing until approximately 8pm when it slowed down to a drizzle. In the photo if you look at the grass banking on the right of the picture you will see a line a couple of feet up the grass, that it the level that the water rose to throughout the down pour and these guys in the picture had been there some 3 hours trying in vain to pump it away to a nearby field.....road closed, although one or two had tried initially to get through but flooded their cars and had to be dragged out!
