Boom

Tyne mouth beach in December and we were digging on the beach in shorts (just me)!

Also took a short stroll along the coastline to see The Collingwood Monument, standing guard over the mouth of the River Tyne and is a fitting memorial to Lord Collingwood who took command of the British Navy after the death of Admiral Lord Nelson at the Battle of Trafalgar.

Born in Newcastle in 1748, he gave nearly 50 years service to the Navy before his death in 1810. The monument features cannon from his ship, Royal Sovereign.
