There is hope

Traditionally my hens have begun to lay on Boxing Day. We are down to two of our original eight now and I believe that we lost our Christmas layer some time ago. We have kept on checking, though not through the last few days of bad weather.

Yesterday my DH trotted out in the unfamiliar dry stillness and found seven eggs waiting for him. Well done, those girls! Thank you.

Spaghetti Carbonara for our lunch today.

So, you see, Spring is most definitely on its way... somewhere.
