Istanbul

A glorious morning as I walked around campus (Ulus district of Istanbul) in the sunshine and the Bosphorus about as silvery shiny as it is possible to be, grabbing some quiet time to clear my head, whilst, unknown to me at the time, all hell was breaking loose downtown in the tourist area of Sultan Ahmet and now there is some kind of media ban 'gag order' here in Turkey on reporting this IS attack, so you probably know more than me about what happened, except that we all know there was a loss of precious life because of some misguided and appalling terror.  

Meanwhile, a lovely evening worlds away in a nice bar in Arnavutkoy, (extra) chatting and putting the world to rights with Alison.  And now, at the end of the day,  it's absolutely pouring - tears from heaven?
