Its the Way It Is

The Veterinary Student as Artist

My last photo of her was 28 August in the hospital room where her Daddy died the following day. We were with him all the time when he slipped in and out of consciousness and held him when he finally breathed his last that terrible evening. He was 55.

5 weeks later his sister in the UK also died from cancer at age 52 - so the whole extended family took the boat from Dublin to Holyhead and then drove en masse to Oxford for her funeral.

3 weeks later a dear friend of mine randomly fell seriously ill from bacterial meningitis and lies in a coma in a Dublin hospital.

I am barely surviving - but I am surviving - but feel emotionally scarred and physically drained.

This blip is of the Artist in Residence - she should be now in her fifth and final year of veterinary but UCD allowed her a year out - so she is now the AIR and next autumn will return to being the Vet Student (VS)

The HG (Head Gardener) is gone to that big seed catalogue in the sky - so much loved and missed everyday.

But time keeps passing - the seasons keep changing - the good earth keeps spinning

I feel locked in my own bubble and wish everyday it would burst so I can be me again
