Not Far from Here

Not far from here, perhaps 500 meters, and shortly before I took this picture, a bomb went off, killing at least 10 and injuring many. We heard the explosion but had no idea what had happened. Although my husband assumed terrorism immediately, I was sure it was nothing dramatic. Soon the air was filled with the sound of sirens and helicopters overhead, the streets were filled with police cars and ambulances rushing to the scene.

We were safe, some were not so lucky. Our flight home is tomorrow.
