Singapore really is an astounding place. It is a master piece of social engineering and it seems on the surface to work well. The population is mainly Chinese with small percentages of Indian, Malays and Westerners. Lee Kuan Yew worked v hard to produce a homogeneous society where all blocks of flats have to contain a percentage of all ethnic groups.
The city is v clean and holds the most astonishing collection of modern buildings, all glass and steel and most of it on reclaimed land.
