Black Hole Marsh, Seaton

It was a sunny morning for the first Bird Watching outing of the year at Black Hole Marsh in Seaton.   Lots of us turned up and we wandered in wellington boots around the flooded grounds.  It is a lovely area, being a local nature reserve situated in the Axe river valley.  It has recently had a new cycle path linking parts of the area which has improved access along with new facilities being built.  This photo shows the lagoon with one of the bird hides visible in the middle.

A male Stonechat, shown in the extra photo, was spotted as well as Curlew, Redshanks, Lapwing, Heron, Dunlin, Teal, Gadwall among many others.
