Recommending

I spent a large part of today typing up letters of recommendations for students enrolling in graduate school programs. I will not make a mistake of agreeing to so many again. My rule will be: if all you took with me was one class, I probably don't know you well enough to be convincing.

Of course, there are always exceptions...
