Full steam ...

ahead, well, er, not exactly ahead  as it came in to Bury station backwards!


A blip trip to see the newly restored "Flying Scotsman" as it had its first outing following its £4.2 million restoration programme. 
Engine lovers of all ages jostled for the best position on the platform to see this leviathan of steam, as it carried passengers along the East Lancs. Railway between Bury, Heywood and Rawtenstall.
It made several trips throughout the day and, despite the freezing cold and a few delays to the planned timetable, it seems that everyone had a brilliant day.


My extra photo shows the 'Scotsman' on its return journey through Bury station, this time in its rightful place up at the front.

...now if only those two women would keep out of the way, yes Belinda and Chrissie I'm talking about you, I might get a half decent shot.
