Duntruim Castle
Having said farewell to our friends we caught the ferry from Tarbet to Uig on Skye. Finding ourselves too large to enter the souterrain at Kilvaxter we continued to the ruin of Duntruim Castle, where warning signs were ignored as we climbed over a dilapidated fence to explore the interior - which was a mound of rock and grass. We soon saw the wisdom in keeping well away from the walls and the sheer drop to the sea, but the views were stunning.
