J's present for Mum. A companion for the parrot.

We definitely at the stage of trying to divest ourselves of possessions rather than acquire yet more, so the provision of birthday presents is getting more challenging.

In the evening we greatly enjoyed a meal prepared by S & J, of stuffed mushrooms, roast potatoes, and gently fried aubergine.

This was followed by a trip to the theatre to see a production of Educating Rita. It was good, but I felt it was missing something. There was a bit too much argumentative tone from Frank, and the underlying attraction between the two protagonists was rather too far 'underlying', to almost being lost completely.
