Bright Eye

I was lucky to find this little guy where I could see it clearly; it was hopping around inside of these wild blackberry bushes. Finally it sat for a few seconds in the open and I quickly took this shot. I think it is some kind of sparrow. Perhaps a golden crowned sparrow? There was another one with more yellow on his head.

Today was my sister-in-law's memorial; the service was very nice. My niece put together a beautiful slide show and she spoke beautifully about her mother. The pastor had a short inspiring message.  We had a simple gathering  at our house after the service. It was a lovely gathering of family and friends. One good reason to stay in our "too big" house, which is perfect for a large gathering.  :-))
