Beneath Biscay

Our last morning in La Coruña before heading back to Gijón. We had planned to have a walk around he old city.

I have never see the monument to General Sir John Moore who died in the city fighting a rearguard action against Napoleon's troops to cover the retreat and embarkation of British forces.

The weather however had other plans. This was the view through the rain spattered window of our hotel bedroom. Before long there would be thunder and lighting to accompany the wind and rain.

Apparently there has been as much rain here over the last two days as in the preceding two months.

So we headed off straight away, with lashing rain for much of the journey. We took the usual route via Aberdeen. Well, 'Abadín' actually, but sounds the same.
