Ducks on Ice....

....I'll bet you've heard of "Stars on Ice"--well, here at the lagoon it's "Ducks on Ice"! This is the first ice I've seen all winter, and not only is it a really thin layer, but it only covers a portion of the water. It's been too "warm" so far this winter to have much ice, even though last year at this time everything was coated in it!  The temperature is supposed to drop into the teens (F) during the night, and if it stays like that for a week or so we'll have more ice forming.  
While we were in Arkansas the Packers played the Vikings for the division championship & the Packers lost, unfortunately! My son-in-law is a big Vikings fan, and he had gone to bed before the end of the game as he had a flight to catch very early in the a.m. , but when we got up that next morning, he'd left his Viking helmet out on the counter with a big smiley face drawn on a post-it note and stuck on the helmet!  Although the Packers didn't win their division, they still have a wild card slot, so play the Washington Redskins in Washington tomorrow. If they win, they'll advance in the playoffs & if they lose they'll be done for the season! I'm hoping they'll win, needless to say, as "eating crow"--especially when it involves the rotten Vikings-- is not pleasant!!  Haha! :))
