Not what they used to be!

Had to replace the bulb in the outside light on the end of the garage - it's been out all week. Very annoying as it lights the gate at the side of the house that gets lots of use.

Its one of the low energy kind, and, despite having a box full of bulbs of various wattages and types, I didn't have one of these. Thought I'd just pop into town to get a replacement for that one and also for three in the lounge that all seem to have blown this week.

I normally try and get stuff like this from one of the local businesses - there's a really good lighting shop there. But, it seems they don't want any weekend trade. It was all closed up at 3:15 on a Saturday afternoon. As I'd already dismantled the light to check the bulb it seemed rather stupid to go home and put it together again to take it apart again tomorrow, so, off to Tesco it was. How does a business supplying domestic equipment survive if it isn't open when its the only time most of have opportunity to go there?
Beats me.

Anyway, this is the faulty one, taken using a macro lens, turned to mono and then toned.
