A Bridge over Troubled Waters

What on earth would we British do if we didn't have the weather as a conversation topic? In November we had unseasonal summer weather but since then we have had winds that stopped us in our tracks, rain like the oceans had decided to empty on our heads, snow that caused chaos in the Borders yesterday and this morning we looked out of the Dower House windows onto a blanket of dense wet mist. I don't remember seeing a blink of sun this year.

However life goes on, and His Lordship and I  trudged through the doom and gloom to buy bin liners and knitting needles from John Lewis, neither of which they had for our specifications- shopping bag empty.

As Poppy reported in her blog yesterday, what else keeps you occupied when the darkness of winter and bad weather produces a form of hibernation, other than knitting. Her blip of a knitted doll produced enough of a reaction in me and Croftcrafts
for us to purchase the book of doll making. However, the necessary 2.5cm double pointed sock needles required are as rare as hen's teeth.

I took this blip of the bridge over muddied waters as we walked through the site of devastation that is St Andrew Square where the Scottish Christmas market was held. Not a pretty sight for sure, but hopefully soon restorable to former glory with some monetary intervention. Perhaps a salient metaphor for Blipfoto. Please remember toPledge!
