A significant number

Not a very exciting photo, but maybe a significant moment - this was the price per litre for diesel today. I really can't remember the last time it was below £1. Not since the 2008 recession certainly. I don't think there is a direct correlation between cost of petrol and people driving more, rather that it frees up money to spend on other things. But it has all sorts of knock-on effects - importing products that were prohibitively expensive because of transport becomes feasible. We'll see unexpected impacts for this low oil price throughout the year I suspect.
