Portico library, Manchester

In order to stop thinking about the imminent arrival of our baby (apparent due date is tomorrow) we've decided to do stuff!

Today we went into Manchester on the bus, in the rain to the Portico library and gallery on Charlotte street.

It was a lovely quiet place where you can have tea and cake and sit in this beautiful old library.

The ladies who made the tea and cake were lovely. They even gave me the recipe for the cake we had, a traditional Norfolk vinegar cake (you can't taste the vinegar).

Then we did a bit of shopping before I decided I was too uncomfortable to walk any more and I wanted to be home watching the tennis!
