Jamie and Joseph the Gerbils

Introducing to you our pet gerbils! Today was cage cleaning day so I thought I would take their picture, which was quite tricky as they are fast movers!

They actually belong to my son. We got them for him just over a year ago for his birthday. He was so desperate for a pet that he would cry most evenings about it! So we have in and got these two beauties that he named Jamie and Joseph.

My son loves animals and for his birthday this year we hired a man for his party that brought snakes, spiders, geckos, giant millipedes and a few other creatures. It went down really well.

I think Jamie and Joseph have a pretty happy life. They have a great cage and get fed and watered every day. They like chewing on the cardboard inners of toilet rolls so we give them a couple to chew on every day (my whole family collect them up for us). My son and daughter hold them regularly and they are very tame and my son no longer cries about wanting a pet - although he has told me that when he grows up he is going to have a whole house full of animals!
