Galleries Saint Hubert, Brussels
Friday
Spending the weekend in Brussels and Bruges, visiting their Christmas markets. We drove up during the afternoon, arriving about 6.30 and heading first for the airport to meet Laura, who was flying in from Romania, where she is currently teaching. We then drove to our hotel and checked in, then walked down to the centre. By this time it was after 8 pm, so time to find somewhere to eat - moules/frites washed down with some Belgian beer. Unfortunately, by the time we had finished, we discovered some of the Christmas market stalls were beginning to shut, but we still had a lovely time wandering around enjoying all the Christmas lights, the decorative store windows and the wonderful Grand Place with it's beautifully illuminated classical facades, it's large Christmas tree and crèche. The Galeries Saint Hubert, covered arcades with shops and restaurants, are located near the Grand place, and as you can see were beautifully decorated.
