Generation Game
There is a positive side to all the riotous growth which has the cottage garden looking jungle-like after three weeks of neglect. Just as weeds flourish, so other plants and shrubs grow wild, self-seeding and self-propagating as well as co-operating enthusiastically in any attempt at taking cuttings. I arrived at this patio hydrangea as follows
1 Snip any old twig off of the big blue hydrangea.
2 Shove it in compost in a pot
3 Leave it over winter
4 Transfer to a posh patio pot
5 Wait three years ........... et voila!
A similar shrub bought at home cost me £20, lasted one season, popped its clogs!
Perfect garden day today, warm but a slight breeze. Much better weather yesterday & today than we expected. I know some of you south of the border are about to be rained on big time, so take care on those flooded roads
