A ONCE PAINTED WALL

I saw on my walk. I liked the sight of it a lot and am happy to make it my abstract contribution for the Abstract Thursday challenge, hosted by youoregon1 and I am very thankful for his dedication.
In the morning Piet Hein and I had a job to do. That had been postponed for a long time. To cover the chimney at the attic with rockwool.
We are not really familiar with that fabric, it has to be cut and put around the chimney and we wondered how to keep it there. I mean it will not do that by itself.
We took the rockwool to the attic and cut it. To our big surprise the measuring (although exactly right) did not fit to cover the outline, the reason of course the thickness of the rockwool. So what was left had to be cut again to make it fit.
We had decided to fasten it with thick cord and at some places with tape.
However, we had just changed our cloths and opted for a rest, Piet Hein came up with a safety issue. The electicity wire that was attached to the chimney, would it not become too warm now it was covered by the rockwool?
Should we cut the wire or consider what we had done till now  as a dress rehearsel? After some deliberation we decided for the latter option.
All went well enough and we even completed our job just before lunch.
After lunch we slept on the couch, a bit exhausted, and only could start our walk later in the afternoon.
Buurman en Buurman again, as we say to each other! A Tchech animation movie with that title, that shows everything that can go wrong in DIY jobs, lovely absurd, as real life sometimes is.

My haiku:

Eternity is
Not just for us and that's why
We enjoy moments

And the proverb:

The evening crowns the day.
