More Knitty Nelly
In the absence of a swan, a kitten or even a grandchild, I have had perforce to blip a new cardigan, finished before our month in Orkney, which was meant to be at this moment travelling to Glasgow daughter in that 'Dear Green Place'.
However with monsoon like rain at the time of departure to Waverley station, the visit was postponed, lest Jennie, my American visitor, and I were either drowned en route or incarcerated indefinitely by flash flooding on the rail line between the cities in, heaven forbid, the notorious Winchburgh tunnel.
With the decision made, the rain promptly stopped as though to tease us, but seemed ready to spring into action should we chose to venture forth.
There is no alternative now but to suffer the agonies of watching Andy Murray perform in the semifinals at Wimbledon. There will be times when I have to absent from the television, such is his ability to go to the wire.
It would be wonderful to see him in the final. Can I dare to hope?
