U-Bahn München: 61/100 Moosacher St.-Martins-Platz
Munich Underground: 61/100 Moosacher St.-Martins-Platz
Finally, I was able to take pictures of the next station in my strictly alphabetical Munich underground series. Moosacher St.-Martins-Platz underground station has been renovated for the best part of 2015.
Oddly enough, it had to be renovated already, despite it being the newest station in the underground network (together with the neighbouring Moosach station) with an opening date in December 2010. However, today's station not only shares the opening date with its western neighbour, but most obviously its light design, too (think: lamps and skylights). What is not that obvious is, that the wall design is connected to: while Moosach station features huge local flowers, the walls of Moosacher St.-Martins-Platz underground station are plastered with 76.200 photos, which were taken in the Moosach neighbourhood above ground.
In my opinion the the name choice is rather sadistic for everyone with a mother tongue other than German - they should have just sticked with the working title Leipziger Straße.
Fingers crossed I don't have to wait so long for the next entry in my series, Moosfeld underground station.
