Ice Crystals at Betty's

Today is cold, around -17°C, but sunny and with no wind at all. I had a few jobs to do outside, and thought it wise to check the Red House (extra house for visitors) and Betty’s (a primitive cottage).
Both were OK though colder than usual. I’ll keep an eye on them and maybe turn up the heating a little if it continues cold.
On two of the windows frost flowers had started to form. Though the air is very dry, at these low temperatures a little moisture starts to condense out and freezes instantly on the outer window. As more moisture comes it freezes onto the already formed crystals, making them grow into these beautiful patterns.
This image covers an area about 10 by 8 cm.
Another one to add to my "crystals" set!
I also backblipped New Year's Day - a herd of reindeer provided a very seasonally suitable blip!
